Celebratory atmosphere at DVT annual conference

The Association has been around for 100 years; the Berlin meeting was an occasion for congratulations

‘Happy birthday!’ was on everyone’s lips at the 18th annual meeting of the DVT in Berlin. German feed manufacturers got together for the first time 100 years ago and formed an interest group that was to become the Deutscher Verband Tiernahrung e. V. (German Association for Animal Nutrition [DVT]). Dr. Eckel again sponsored and attended the conference this year, and gladly joined others in extending its congratulations.

Ever mindful of the Association’s eventful history and what it has achieved so far, the speakers at the conference deliberately looked to the future, exploring issues such as modern eating habits, the future of agricultural policy and the challenges of reliable and sustainable animal feed production. Following the presentation of the DVT Award to Alexander Döring, Secretary General of the European Feed Manufacturers’ Federation (FEFAC), the conference was brought to a close with a gala evening. The BOLLE Festsäle, an event venue that successfully marries history and modernity, was just perfect for the theme of this year’s conference: While proud of the past, we look to the future.

We thank DVT for its commitment and wish it every success, inspiration and support for the future. Here’s to the next 100 years!
