Acting responsibly is a win–win situation
Dr. Eckel – animal welfare starts with feed
The key to success
One of the main challenges of modern farming is sustainably improving animal health and welfare.
This is partly because we as humans are responsible for our livestock and our environment, and partly because animal health has a direct impact on the quality of food, the performance of the animals and therefore the yield that can be achieved.
We are convinced that only high-welfare production can be economical on a lasting basis. Healthy animals mean better quality, reduced medicine and treatment costs, more stable yields, more effective management and more satisfied customers and employees.
The right feed is a key element of any animal welfare strategy and plays an important role. By using the right feed, farmers can have a direct influence on the immune system, stress, behaviour and performance of their animals through the gut–brain axis.
Animal welfare is at the heart of everything we do, in order to make food production more sustainable and higher yielding.
