Taking care of the carers

Dr. Eckel donates protective masks to retirement home

Even under normal conditions, it is impressive what carers accomplish. Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, however, they are doing the impossible: tireless in their efforts, they commit every single day to the well-being of the people they have been entrusted with. Protective equipment and disinfectants are critical to reducing personal risk at work, at the very least. Though they are no longer in short supply as they were at the beginning of the pandemic, they are still needed and in high use.

Hence we decided to give a small contribution of our own to support carers in their task. Here at our headquarters, we produce innovative feed additives for livestock such as ruminants, poultry and pigs. Sometimes, when vegetable pomace powder is delivered or minerals are mixed, it can get quite dusty. Of the FFP2 protective masks that we normally use in production, we have now donated 250 masks together with 2 canisters of hand disinfectant to the staff at Villa Romantica retirement home in Niederzissen. Viktor Eckel presented the gifts on behalf of the company.

„These are currently indispensable tools that we constantly need for our employees,” says Klaus Vitten, managing director of Villa Romantica, visibly pleased with the donation. „We can’t have enough of them and are grateful for any help.“ Together with his wife Heike Hoffmann-Vitten and Hermine Degen, chair of the residents’ board of advisors, he accepted the donation on behalf of the staff and residents.

We at Dr. Eckel give our heartfelt thanks to all carers and employees at Villa Romantica, and wish them and the residents all the best for the future. Stay healthy!
