Employees had a lot of fun at Christmas auction – proceeds to be donated to food bank
On the last Friday before Christmas, Dr. Eckel staff normally meets for a nice and cosy Christmas meeting. This year, unfortunately, nothing is normal. But what took place instead at the company’s headquarters in Niederzissen and online was hard to beat in terms of fun and Christmas feeling.
Production Manager Klara Eckel had called on her colleagues in advance to participate in a Christmas auction. Following the motto “Christmas elves – from us for you”, employees were able to offer homemade items for sale. Even the organiser was surprised at the wide range of items on offer. “I would never have imagined all the great things that came in,” said Klara Eckel enthusiastically. From home-made liqueur, Christmas biscuits and home-knitted goods to a landscape painting course and a motorbike tour to a French menu and a virtual visit to a real pigsty, there truly was something for everyone. Of course, staff were eager to get down to business and not only the buyers had a lot of fun. In the end, the auction raised more than 500 euros, which will go as a donation to the food bank in neighbouring town Ahrweiler.
Organisers and employees agree: This event will definitely take place again next year!
