Dr. Eckel sponsors Agriculture Award

The agrarzeitung (dfv Mediengruppe) ‘Agriculture Award’ sponsored by Dr. Eckel was bestowed in a ceremony on 12 November 2017. This year’s winners are: Dr Eva-Marie Meemken for her research on socio-economic conditions and impacts of sustainability standards; Thiemo Buchner for the development of small networked robots, which should revolutionise agriculture; and Harm Böckmann for his start-up ‘SuperMeatBoy’, which not only produces delicious salami, but also makes animal husbandry and welfare throughout the value chain transparent.

Antje Eckel, CEO of Dr. Eckel Animal Nutrition GmbH & Co. KG, is a member of the jury.

“Our industry is in a state of flux, and is constantly addressing exciting new issues. Therefore, we believe it is particularly important to support innovative projects by young agricultural experts and to encourage them to break new ground,” stated Dr Antje Eckel, affirming her commitment to career development.

Through this award, agrarzeitung supports junior professionals in the agricultural industry and acts as a springboard for their careers. This prize has been awarded to committed and successful young talent – be it scientists, agronomists or employees of industrial, trading or processing agricultural companies – for ideas that promote the agricultural industry, since 2005.
